PARTAY.FUN
Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: · Version 2026-10-27
The essentials. PARTAY is an adults-only social gaming service. We use your account, profile, approximate location, gameplay and communication information to help you play and connect. Other players can see your character and some profile information before you match; selfies are restricted to authorised connections. Voice calls are live and are not recorded or transcribed by the current PARTAY application. Public sharing links are different from private profiles.
This summary is a guide. The sections below explain the details, your choices and how to contact us.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
PARTAY.FUN, also called PARTAY, is operated by Name a friend, trading as PARTAY. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that operator. Our privacy contact is the PARTAY Privacy Contact, reachable through the contact details in section 18.
This policy covers the PARTAY website and current browser application, character creation, account onboarding, matchmaking, invited guest games, profiles, chats, voice features, virtual currency, subscriptions and sharing features. It applies whether you create an account or use a supported guest invitation. It describes the current service; a future native app, new data collection or materially different feature may require an updated notice.
We seek to handle information consistently with applicable Australian privacy law. Whether a particular statutory right or regulator process applies depends on the law and the circumstances. This policy does not remove any right you have under applicable law. Acknowledging it is not a blanket consent to unrelated uses of your information or a substitute for any separate permission or consent that is required.
2. Information we collect
| Category | Examples and source | Why it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Account and sign-in | Verified account and identity-provider identifiers, login/session records, policy-version acknowledgements and authentication credentials supplied through WorkOS/AuthKit. The sign-in provider may collect your email, name, login method and, where applicable, a password or social sign-in details. | Account creation, authentication, session security and recovery. PARTAY does not store your sign-in password in its application database. |
| Profile and preferences | First name, date of birth, gender, height, highest education, university, prompt questions and answers, photos, city if supplied, queue choice, gender preference, maximum radius and age gap. | Age eligibility, your profile, nearby matchmaking and conversation features. Some fields are optional and some are required for particular features. |
| Approximate location | A rounded geographic point derived from device location with your browser permission; city information if you choose a city lookup. | Nearby matchmaking and estimated distance between players. |
| Character and game information | Avatar appearance, body settings, outfits, pets, held items, block colour, poses, dances, controls, tower state, scores, cumulative climbing, levels, reactions and game invitations. | Render and synchronise play, save your look, award progress and deliver game features. |
| Social and communications | Match choices, chat membership, accepted invitations, messages, activities, unread state, favourites, typing/online presence, avatar activity and chat engagement indicators. | Connect players, display conversations and activities, and maintain social features. |
| Voice connection information | Microphone permission state, local audio-activity measurements, speaking/readiness indicators, call participants, connection times and WebRTC signalling information, which may contain network addresses. | Establish live voice, show speaking activity and operate microphone-use requirements. |
| Transactions and entitlements | Purchase and checkout references, amounts, currency, payment/subscription status, wallet balances, grants, item ownership, gifts, expiry dates, reward receipts and loot-box outcomes. | Fulfil purchases, prevent duplicate charges or rewards, operate VIP and resolve payment issues. |
| Device, network and support | IP/network information, request headers, browser/device information, local time zone, access/security events, error information and information you provide when requesting help. | Deliver and secure the service, diagnose faults, schedule local-calendar rewards and handle enquiries, complaints and legal requests. |
We receive information from you, your browser or device, other users interacting with you, and providers supporting authentication, hosting and payments. A shared beta code is an access mechanism, not a personal account password or proof of identity. Infrastructure providers can process connection information even when you only read a public page.
You can make a general enquiry anonymously or under a pseudonym where practicable. We may be unable to act on an account, payment or personal-information request unless we can identify the relevant account and reasonably verify your authority.
3. Required information, optional choices and sensitive details
To complete account onboarding, the current app requires a first name, an eligible date of birth, the gender selection offered by the app, initial prompt answers, matchmaking preferences and device location permission. Photos are optional in the For friends onboarding flow. Something more onboarding requires at least three photos; a For friends account moving to Find more is also asked to add them if missing. Find more asks for a gender preference. Microphone access is required before joining games, rather than during account onboarding.
Height, highest education and university are optional profile additions. You do not need to upload sensitive identity documents to use the current signup flow. We do not currently perform government-ID verification, facial recognition, biometric identification or background checks.
Your answers, photographs, conversations or preferences may reveal sensitive information, including sexuality, health, religion or political beliefs. Do not include information you do not want the relevant audience to receive, or sensitive information about someone else without permission. Where you deliberately choose to provide such information for a profile or matching feature, we use it for that requested purpose, subject to any additional consent required by law. You can remove optional content or contact us to withdraw consent; doing so may limit the feature concerned without invalidating earlier lawful processing.
4. How location works
The browser asks for permission before accessing device location. In the current app, device coordinates are rounded to approximately one decimal degree before they are sent to our application server. This is an approximate grid, roughly 11 kilometres north–south; its east–west size varies by latitude. It is not your exact street address or a live map of your movements.
We store the rounded point to estimate distance and apply matchmaking preferences. Teammates are shown an estimated distance, rounded for display. A city, when provided, and approximate geographic information associated with a matched profile can reveal your general area. Repeated distance comparisons or information you disclose yourself may also help someone infer where you are.
If you use a city lookup, the current lookup provider receives approximate coordinates and your network request information. The onboarding distance-only location step does not require that city lookup. You can revoke location permission in your device/browser settings. Revoking permission does not itself erase a previously saved point; contact us to remove it. Nearby matching and account completion may then be unavailable.
5. What other people can see
- Before a mutual match: a game teammate can see your character, first name, age when available, estimated distance, reactions and the prompt answers revealed during play, and can hear you while voice is connected. Your prompt answers are conversation content, not a private note to us.
- Online hangout: users of the app can see online characters and activity in the chat-page hangout and can send invitations. Your character is not limited to people you already know.
- Authorised chat connections: mutual matches and accepted chat invitations can create a conversation. Authorised connections may view your shared profile details and selfies and receive your messages, activity and presence information. A For friends connection and a Find more connection use one shared profile, not separate photo galleries.
- VIP match visibility: an active VIP teammate may see that you selected the match control before they select it themselves. Do not treat that choice as a private signal visible only after mutual selection.
- Public sharing: when you use Show off, the generated link and character preview can be opened by anyone who has the link, including people without an account or beta code. The current character snapshot excludes your profile answers and selfies. A tower image or score you choose to share can also be copied or redistributed by recipients.
Selfies are served through access-controlled profile features rather than a public photo directory. These restrictions cannot prevent a person who can view content from taking a screenshot, making a separate recording or sharing what they saw. Avoid putting contact details or precise location information in content you share.
The app uses your full date of birth for eligibility and age calculation; it shows other players your age rather than your full date of birth.
6. Microphone and live voice
Voice uses WebRTC between participants, with connection-assistance services and, when configured, a relay. The current PARTAY application does not record calls, save audio files or transcribe speech. Text chat is different: it is stored so the conversation can be displayed later.
The browser locally measures audio activity to show speaking indicators. It can send a speaking/readiness flag to the server for the game’s microphone-use check; this does not send a transcript or an analysis of what you said. Live audio is transmitted to the other call participant while voice is connected and your microphone is transmitting.
Direct WebRTC connections can disclose network/IP information to the other participant. Signalling and connection providers also process connection information; a relay, where used, carries encrypted media traffic. Do not assume this makes a call anonymous or prevents another participant recording it outside PARTAY.
Game voice connects with your teammate after the required permission and connection steps. In chats you can use the microphone control; an accepted chat invitation can initiate voice as indicated by the app. You can mute where a control is provided, leave a call or revoke microphone permission in the browser. Games may require voice access and speaking activity, and a lack of activity may result in removal from that game.
7. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts; save characters and profiles; connect players according to the feature and preferences selected; synchronise game physics and activities; deliver messages and live voice; calculate scores, levels, engagement indicators and rewards; process purchases, subscriptions and gifts; provide customer support; investigate abuse and technical faults; prevent fraud, cheating and unauthorised access; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Matchmaking and online-presence features use automated rules, such as availability, queue type and supplied preferences. Microphone checks, anti-spam controls, purchase validation and reward limits can also operate automatically. Matching is not an assessment of psychological compatibility, identity, trustworthiness or safety. You can contact us if you believe a restriction or recorded result is wrong and request review.
We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers in the app, sell personal information, or use your profile content for targeted advertising. Prompt-writing suggestions in the current app use local templates rather than sending your answers to an external generative-AI service. Current photo processing checks file validity and removes common embedded metadata; it is not identity verification or a guarantee that content has been screened for every kind of harm. We will update the relevant notice before introducing materially different processing.
Where applicable law requires a lawful basis to be identified, the relevant bases may include performing the account, game or purchase service you request; complying with legal obligations; legitimate interests in proportionate service security and fraud prevention, balanced against your rights; and consent where required for optional or sensitive processing. A browser permission and acknowledgement of this policy are not interchangeable with every form of consent that may be required.
8. Providers and other disclosures
We use providers to run the service. They receive information needed for their role, and some also handle information under their own policies when you interact with them directly.
| Provider or recipient | Role and information involved |
|---|---|
| WorkOS / AuthKit and any login provider you select | Account authentication, credential handling and session-related information. See WorkOS’s privacy policy and the selected login provider’s notice. |
| Stripe and payment-method providers | Checkout, billing details, payment credentials, fraud checks, recurring payments and payment/subscription references. We receive fulfilment and status information, not your complete card number or card security code. See Stripe’s privacy policy. |
| Cloudflare and the ChatGPT Sites / OpenAI hosting platform | Hosting, deployment, application records, photo/object storage, network delivery, security and operational logs. Cloudflare also supports voice connection assistance and any configured relay. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and OpenAI’s privacy policy. Hosting the app through these services does not mean your chats are public ChatGPT conversations. |
| BigDataCloud, if a city lookup is used | Reverse geocoding of the approximate point and the associated network request. See the provider’s privacy information. |
| Other users, and recipients of your chosen shares | The content and activity described in section 5 and information you choose to communicate directly. |
Information may also be accessed by authorised personnel, contractors and professional advisers as needed for support, security, administration and legal compliance. We may disclose relevant information to meet a valid legal requirement, investigate fraud or unlawful activity, or protect a person’s safety. Any disclosure should be appropriate to the purpose; this is not unrestricted permission to publish your information.
If the service or operator is reorganised, acquired or transferred, information needed to continue the service may be transferred with suitable confidentiality and continuity protections. We will explain a material change of operator or materially different use through an updated notice and any further notice or choice required by law.
9. Processing outside Australia
Our providers operate internationally. Your information may be stored, accessed or processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which the relevant hosting, authentication, payment or support providers operate. The current service is not restricted to Australian-only data processing.
Different countries may have different privacy and government-access rules. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an overseas disclosure, we must take the required steps rather than treating use of this service as a waiver of those protections. Contact our Privacy Contact for information about the providers and processing destinations relevant to your request.
10. Cookies, browser storage and device permissions
If you opt into message and game-invite push notifications, we store a device push subscription (delivery endpoint and encryption keys) and use your browser/platform push service to deliver alerts. Alerts use generic text rather than message contents or selfies. You can turn notifications off in Profile or your browser/device settings. Subscriptions are removed when you turn them off in the app; invalid subscriptions are also removed after the push service rejects them.
The current app uses cookies and browser storage for service functions, not just appearance preferences. These include account and beta-access sessions; short-lived login handshakes; guest-invitation sessions; character and profile drafts; onboarding progress; queue choices; score/progress caches; chat drafts, read state and activity preferences; and purchase/reward notices.
Current access periods include a beta-unlock cookie of up to seven days, an application account session of up to 30 days, a login handshake of about ten minutes and an invited guest session of up to two hours. A session can end earlier for security or provider reasons. Expiry restricts access; it does not mean every related server record is erased at that instant. Local storage can remain until cleared, replaced or removed by the app.
You can manage cookies, site data and microphone/location permissions in your browser or device settings. Blocking essential storage can prevent sign-in, saved drafts or gameplay. Clearing browser data or signing out does not delete your server account, photos, chats or payment records. On a shared device, sign out and consider clearing site data.
11. Retention and deletion
We retain information for the purpose for which it is needed, including ongoing account operation, safety, dispute resolution and legal/accounting requirements. We do not currently apply one fixed automatic deletion period to all inactive accounts or all chat records.
| Information | Current approach |
|---|---|
| Account, profile and saved appearance | Retained to support the account until removed or no longer reasonably needed, subject to necessary legal/security retention. Ask us to close the account or remove information using section 18. |
| Selfies | You can remove them through the profile gallery. Removal takes them out of your active profile and initiates deletion of the stored photo. Copies held by recipients, transient caches or provider backups may not disappear at the same time. |
| Chat and activities | Stored for the conversation and related functionality. The current message list normally retains the latest 200 messages per conversation and is not a guaranteed permanent archive. Related transaction, activity or security records can be retained separately. |
| Game, invitation and voice signalling records | Used for active sessions, reconnection, rewards, abuse prevention and debugging. Some session/access records expire or are pruned, but game expiry does not promise immediate erasure of every related record. Current application voice audio is not retained as recordings. |
| Wallet, purchases and subscription records | Retained as reasonably needed for payment fulfilment, ownership, fraud prevention, tax/accounting duties and disputes. Permanent reward/payment receipts prevent duplicate grants. |
| Public shares and support/legal records | A shared character link can remain available until removed; ask us to disable it. Support, complaint and legal records may be kept for the period needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable obligations. |
After a valid deletion request, we will explain any information that must be retained and why. Retained information should be limited to that purpose. Deletion may involve removing, de-identifying or restricting information, as appropriate. Where residual backup copies remain, they are subject to the provider’s backup lifecycle and access restrictions. We cannot delete another person’s screenshots, external recordings or independently held copies.
12. Security and limits
The app uses measures including encrypted HTTPS transport, access-controlled photo routes, account/session checks, protected session cookies, server-side purchase validation and encrypted refresh-credential storage. Uploaded selfies are processed into JPEG files and common EXIF/IPTC/comment metadata is stripped. Do not assume every visible detail in an image, such as an address in the background, is removed.
Stored profiles, photos and text chats are not end-to-end encrypted between users; authorised application operators and providers can access stored information where needed for their roles. No online service can promise absolute security. Protect your login credentials and report suspected account compromise promptly. We will assess security incidents and provide notifications where applicable law requires them.
13. Access, correction, deletion and your choices
You can edit available profile fields, prompt answers and photos in the app, manage subscription renewal through the subscription portal and change device permissions in your browser. Some information, including currently hidden profile fields, cannot be edited from every screen; contact us for help.
You can ask our Privacy Contact for access to information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, account closure, deletion or de-identification, removal of a public character share, or information about a particular use or disclosure. Where applicable law provides additional rights, you may also request portability, restriction of processing, objection to processing or withdrawal of consent.
Explain the request and provide enough account information for us to locate it. We may reasonably verify your identity, but do not send your password, complete card details or identity documents unless a secure, necessary verification process has first been agreed. We aim to respond within 30 days, or the period required by applicable law. If we cannot fulfil a request fully, we will explain the reason and available review options. Requests themselves do not attract a fee; any legally permitted access charge will be explained in advance.
Closing an account is different from cancelling a subscription. Please cancel renewal through Profile → Manage subscription, or contact us if you cannot access it. We will help resolve ongoing billing as part of a closure request. Deletion does not remove payment records that must lawfully be retained or automatically erase information already received by another user.
14. Adults only
PARTAY is for people aged 18 or older, including invited guests. We do not knowingly invite children to create profiles or use the service. The current age check relies on information and confirmations provided by users; it is not proof that every person you meet has been independently verified.
If you believe a user is under 18 or that a child’s personal information has been submitted, contact us with information sufficient to locate the account or content. Do not send exploitative images as evidence. We will assess the report and take appropriate steps, including restricting access and removing information where required.
15. External services and links
If you follow a link, use a social login or complete checkout on another service, that service may collect information under its own terms and privacy policy. A provider’s policy does not replace this policy for information we handle. If you share a link or image through a messaging or social app, that app and the recipients control their subsequent handling of it.
16. Complaints and independent help
For a privacy complaint, contact our Privacy Contact in section 18. Describe what happened, when it happened and the outcome you are seeking. We will assess it, seek relevant information where necessary and aim to give a response within 30 days. If it takes longer, we will explain the delay and next steps.
If the matter is not resolved, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, depending on its jurisdiction and eligibility requirements, or your local privacy regulator where applicable. Reports of serious online abuse or image-based abuse may also be eligible for the eSafety Commissioner’s reporting pathways. These options do not limit your other legal rights.
17. Changes to this policy
We will update the date and version when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide a prominent in-app or other appropriate notice before the change takes effect where reasonably practicable, and obtain any consent required by law. A policy change does not retrospectively authorise an unrelated use of information already collected. Contact us if you need information about a previous version.
